We love Jeni’s Ice Cream, and the staff here are always very sweet! The ice cream itself is wonderful, but I have to be candid about the exterior seating area—it really needs some attention. We recently invited a large group to enjoy ice cream here because the weather was beautiful, but the outdoor space was disappointing. The pavement badly needs to be power washed, the street-style trash cans next to the entrance could use attention, the tables have layers of old ice cream buildup, and the ground is covered in dark spots and grime that appear to have accumulated over time. I understand that ice cream melts and messes happen, but a regular wipe-down and periodic deep cleaning or power washing would make this area so much more inviting. This is such a great location in downtown Brightleaf Square, and the outdoor space should reflect the quality of the Jeni’s brand. Come on, Jeni’s—let’s give our community a clean, welcoming space where families and friends can sit, relax, and enjoy your amazing ice cream. I truly love this brand and hope to see the outdoor area get the care it deserves!

Located in the downtown, near to a cute neighborhood. The portion size is large: 4 half scoops are hardly finished by the two of us. Also the lady at the store was amazing! I was hesitated in picking the last flavor and she recommended me “goofy buttermilk”, which was the best among what we had:) If I have to say one down side, the ice cream melts a bit too quickly. Not to be concerned to much though

The service was exceptional—friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. The team encouraged us to sample different flavors and made great recommendations, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. Many customers highlight how accommodating and welcoming the staff are, even during busy times . And the ice cream itself? Absolutely delicious. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor—every scoop feels thoughtfully crafted and unique. It’s the kind of place where you end up wanting to try more than you planned. Great service, incredible ice cream, and a fun overall experience. Definitely a must-visit spot in Durham.

Great ice cream shop. Nice variety of flavors. I did find the banana pudding to be a bit too sweet for my liking but overall was very happy with the service and the ice cream. Price was reasonable for the portions.

I absolutely love the ice cream here! It is a bit pricey, but completely worth it for the quality. They have tons of unique choices, though my personal favorites are always Double Dough and Milkiest Chocolate. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a great spot to hang out. Pro tip for parking: The lot right outside the shop tends to fill up quickly. However, there is another lot about a 3-minute walk away that requires you to sign in on your phone by scan the QR code. Just let the staff at Jeni's know, and they can validate/extend your parking for up to 2 hours! Option 2: Short & Sweet
